Let’s talk style. Style is a big deal! Casual, Boho, Vintage, and Chic are just some of the styles out there in the fashion world. Most girls favor one style majority of the time, but others don’t, and are left wondering what style they should try. There are many things to consider when selecting your style. Here are three things I think are important…
Details on these outfits can be found on my like to know it!
- Your comfort. Comfort is key when selecting your style. Walking around all day long in uncomfortable clothes can change your entire mood and even if you don’t think so, it will be reflected in how you look and act. Great style is fantastic, but don’t sacrifice comfort. If you can’t walk in 4-inch heels, then don’t wear them! There are too many fashion options out there, so why suffer?
- Your personality. Style should be a statement about your personality. If you are outgoing and love attention, then bold high fashion trends are probably right for you. If you are shy and reserved, then you would want to avoid clothing or accessories that put you in the spotlight. Usually the clothing and jewelry you are attracted to will be right on point with your personality, but sometimes you may find yourself admiring something that is way outside of your norm. My advice is to try it! Usually our style preferences change as we change. I mean you aren’t rocking the same style you did when you were 12 right?
- Your body shape. We have all found a top or some pants that we fell in love with on the hanger, only to gasp when we saw ourselves in them. This is because not all cuts of clothing, patterns, or fits, look good on every body type. NEVER body shame yourself! This has nothing to do with you needing to change anything. Some patterns, prints, or even colors are better for certain body types because of the way we perceive them subconsciously. We are wired to like things proportionate, and patterns, prints, and colors play a part in creating that proportion. Part of looking good is feeling good, so you shouldn’t wear anything that makes you feel bad about your body shape just because it’s what’s trending.
Always remember that you define your style, it doesn’t define you! Preferring a certain style doesn’t mean you can’t experiment with others, or even incorporate one with another. You are in charge, and your uniqueness could just have you setting the trends instead of following them!
