Many are getting ready to return to the classroom, in person or virtually, and that means returning to the routine of getting ready every day…and actually being seen (even in a virtual classroom). This may be difficult for those who have been stuck at home all summer long where leggings and an old t-shirt were acceptable daywear. So, I decided to share a few fashion items that I consider “Back to School Style Basics”.
Something Boho. Bohemian style feels carefree and fun, which is why it’s such a popular summer style. This year I am taking a little bit of Boho with me “back to school” in necklace form. The Mariah Necklace features beautiful coral colored beads and a colorful frayed fabric tassel pendant that’s removable. This necklace is a perfect addition to boho outfits but can really be worn with any style to add that “something boho”. It looks amazing with this top featuring flowing ruffles with a soft gingham pattern. When I say featuring, I mean REALLY featuring. These ruffles are on the extra side, and I love the way they go with the flow of the tassel pendant.

Something Pink. If you can’t tell from this picture, I LOVE the color pink, but that’s not why this wondrously flawless color made my back to school list. Even if you don’t particularly love pink, not many people can say they truly DISLIKE pink. Pink is a calming color, and anything that could possibly help curb those first day jitters gets an A+ in my book. This blush pink top is simply beautiful, and I love the fit. I chose to pair it with white jeans, filigree drops, and two stacked bracelets to add some elegant ambiance to this ensemble.

Something YOU. There’s nothing more important than just being yourself, so make sure that you always include something that just feels like you. Think about the thing you wear most. It could be something sentimental, like the cross necklace your grandma gave you, or something that’s more of a style signature. For me, it’s white jeans. Jeans are comfortable and go with anything. You can create any style you want with jeans as your “blank canvas”, but I prefer the extra pop I get from colors when I wear white jeans. I think wearing them with anything really makes your outfit look planned…even if it wasn’t.
